my #goals for 2021

my #goals for 2021

i love the reset that a brand new year brings, and esp this year! while it might be all mental, it’s a total game changer for my attitude and motivation. january is the perfect time to step back from my day-to-day and reflect on longer-term goals for the upcoming year + beyond. here are some of my work, life and health goals for 2021 →

  1. read 12 books

i started reading again last year and finished 10! it was such a great alternative to scrolling my feed at night and made me feel so accomplished. this year i’m aiming for one a month and exploring new genres — my first book of the year is a novel! luckiest girl alive by jessica knoll (i pretty much only read non-fiction so this is new to me). some of the best books i read and loved last year were:

    • essentialism by greg mckeown

    • greenlights by matthew mcconaughey

    • what I know for sure by oprah winfrey

    • fiber fueled by dr. will bulsiewicz

  2. try longer-form videos

something i had so much fun with in 2020 was making cute reels of old vacay content. i love the process and want to continue to make them with more real-time videos. with more content and an idea of how editing goes, i think longer-form videos would be fun! probably start with igtv, maybe venture into youtube…who knows!? i love that it’s something new + challenging and i’m excited to push myself farther into it.

  3. move my body everyday

i started off the year with a january challenge by the pilates class and am loving it so far. my bestie paigelll took me to my first pilates class a few months back and i have been obsessed ever since. i now have an online subscription with the pilates class and take a class in my living room whenever it fits into my day. it’s been such an easy way to sneak in a workout and i love the variety of classes she offers — totally customizable to your style. when i don’t take a pilates class I try for a quick run, long walk, or skiing on the weekends! obviously in the summer i’ll have more options like rollerblading, golfing, and wake surfing to name a few of my faves. number one priority is just moving body daily no matter how i do it.

  4. eat more plant-based

after reading fiber fueled in november i was totally influenced to try a more ‘plant-based’ lifestyle for the benefit of my gut. i already try to stay away from dairy and i’d like to start replacing more animal products with veggies! fiber fueled helped me realize how important the gut is to our entire immune system and the benefits that a mostly plant-based diet and strong microbiome can bring to our everyday lives. i’ve been busy on pinterest look for easy vegan recipes and have been inspired by @misskylieray and @elsas_wholesomelife on ig. making veggies my number one has already made me feel 100x better so i’m looking forward to going more full-time with it.

  5. last but not least, have more fun!

such a simple goal, but i spend so much time stressing about day-to-day things and sometimes have a really hard time stepping back and seeing life bigger picture. this year i’m focusing on letting small stresses go, saying yes to more, and enjoying the everyday. journaling really helps with this so i’m making that a priority in my daily morning routine. some fun i’m looking forward to in 2021:

    • skiing with my fam

    • golfing

    • lake days

    • traveling to new cities

    • a day at the spa

    • cooking classes

    • trying new workouts

    • camping in the car

    • + allll the happy hours

after an interesting year, i’m excited about the new adventures to come in 2021! if you need some cute printables to help you map out your goals for the year and get micro with them, i used these from marianna hewitt
