eat + drink your way through anchorage, alaska

not a full blown foodie, but i can get v specific about what i like and how i like it. maybe that just makes me picky? either way, i love a good restaurant, and even more so if they can make a great cocktail.

top 10 was hard to narrow down but here we go! in no particular order:

#1 haute quarter grill

cozy, comfy, and classy. we come for happy hour at the bar or fun dinners with friends.

my order: french fries with spicy banana ketchup, steak tips + a glass of the house red

#2 spenard roadhouse

this place is craft cocktail heaven. great bartenders, good food, and perfect for a casual lunch or dinner.

my order: bacon jam burger, super tots, and a bomb cocktail

#3 south

vibes !! the decor and lighting is on point here, even in the coffeehouse. i’m also obsessed with their booths, especially the big round ones in the bar. perfect for quick hangover nap in-between bloodies. they also have an interesting but really good happy hour appetizer menu. just order everything, i swear it’s worth it.

my order: huevos and a bottle of prosecco for brunch, beet salad w/ shrimp or the rice bowl for dinner + the best spicy marg in town

#4 kincaid grill

not my everyday restaurant but we love to go on occasion or just for a bottle of wine. it’s an alaskan og and has been a longtime fave.

my order: crab cakes, caesar, black cod + i always let them pick my wine

#5 fiori d’italia

another occasional spot, but when i’m craving it i am craaaving it. we only sit in the bar, (the restaurant is a little dated), but it might be my favorite bar in town. great cocktails, great wine, great vibes and my mouth is literally watering right now thinking about the chicken parm.

my order: split chicken parm + too many drinks

#6 moose’s tooth

yum!! our favorite weekday spot. and when i say weekday i mean like 4 times a week. really wish i was kidding. it’s so simple but the energy is always right. love the bar, love the booths, and love trying the new beers.

my order: if not all five, i’m always deciding between diablo sticks w/ ranch, spicy korean wings, the amazing apricot or spicy thai chicken pizza on wheat, and the sesame soy salad with buffalo chicken. fave beer rn is the yelloweye.p.a.

#7 sushi ya

just across the street, another favorite of mine. their new location got everything right. again, idk if you’ve noticed a theme but, great booths. clean, modern decor and good fish is a yes for me.

my order: heart attack, pepper splash roll, kirin + a bottle of nigori sake

#8 ginger

so good for after work happy hour, pregame drinks, or a good dinner.

my order: strawberry chili salad, mee krob + a chupacabra

#9 bubbly mermaid

oh what a cute date spot. honestly the owner is kind of an asshole, but i still like the place. it’s tiny and cozy, they have an extensive champagne and oyster menu, and even a little hidden back room where they serve tacos and sangria.

my order: poke and ceviche oysters + a random champagne

#10 f street station

hello comfort food. it is a bar and they don’t do to-go orders, but they have amazing food. the vibes are always good here, super cozy and a very local spot.

my order: chicken pasta salad, french onion soup + a gin and tonic
